Driving through my eyes

know driving can be scary and nerve-racking at times, which is way too good to complete a driving course to help you feel more confident in driving. I have only been driving for a year and a half now, which it crazy to me because it feels longer to me due to me driving so much. I will share some tips that have helped me and what I have experienced while driving. I hope this helps you become less nervous while driving.

Some tips that have helped me while driving is make sure everything is set up before you drive. Check your mirrors, connect your phone to your car if you have that feature, adjust the seat so it is comfortable for you and lastly check to make sure there are no distractions while driving. Always ride with the flow of traffic in any lane you are driving in. Pick a lane that is also flowing at a speed you feel comfortable driving. There will be people driving faster on the road to make sure you are driving defensively, which means that you are checking your mirrors and keeping your eyes alert on the road. Another tip I have for you is to take a driver’s education course, this course is very helpful for getting you properly adjusted to the road while having an instructor be with you in the car. Drivers’ education has helped lower deaths due to accidents caused by driving by showing you how to drive safely and manage traffic (which is crazy in Florida), reckless drivers, and at times road rage

To be safe on the road make sure you leave a good distance between you and the car in front of you. Don’t use your phone while driving and make sure you don’t take your eyes off the road while driving, always be on the lookout for danger while driving. This helps you drive defensibly and lower your risk of an accident. You also don’t want your passengers to be a distraction to you as well. This could potentially cause an accident as well. Take every precaution you can to prevent accidents from happening. Doing these things can help you not feel so nervous while driving. The last thing I also learned while driving is to trust your instincts, don’t second guess. Second guessing could end up being the spilt second where things get bad. I hope these tips help you become more confident about driving.

Now time to tell you about the time I saw a bad accident. I was with my sister and sister-in-law; we were about 10 minutes from my house when we saw a white car speeding down the road. I was driving 2 cars behind him when traffic started to slow down to a stop because the light turned red. We noticed he had started to slow down until he realized he needed to stop but it was too late. We saw the car slam on brakes, but it was going too fast, and he decided to serve not to hit the car in front of him. He didn’t see that there was a car coming up next to him which caused him to hit her, spun the car into 2 other cars that were stopped due to the light being red. The car in front of me braked as I did to not add ourselves to the accident. The accident was nasty, it was a total of 4 cars including the speeder. This was the first accident I had seen that bad. I was also grateful that no one was seriously injured and that I had had an accident in my dash cam. I immediately went home so I could download the footage to bring to the police station. When replaying the video, we were stunned to see how everything played out even though it happened right in front of us. We were really scared because we could have been involved because we weren’t too far behind. This accident was an eye opener for me because it shows just how dangerous driving can be when people are driving recklessly or not paying attention to the road ahead of them.

Steps I can take to be a better driver is to make sure i have no distractions and keep my eyes focused on the road Infront of me. I will also continue to drive defensively to keep me and my passengers safe. Please make sure that you are driving safely for yourself and others.
