The importance of safe driving and the impact one has

When I was 4 years old, I was involved in a serious car accident that
landed my grandmother in the hospital and me stranded with a random
lady at BOB’S Furniture. My grandmother’s carelessness led a
helpless child confused and worried. Where was my mom, is she on her
way? I spent 3 hours wondering what was happening while snacking on
the complimentary ice cream. My mother lived far but raced to
retrieve me from a worker not being paid enough to watch me. I cried
twice in the manager’s office and each time was given a lollipop to
restrict and lessen my emotional outburst. I was a confused child who
never understood until I was told by my mother when I was older. This
is a problem no child should have to face. That is why the rules and
safe driving is so important.

Now
this rendition of my experience wasn’t detrimental, but it had an
effect.

Safe driving is
important to save your life and others as well. If my grandmother
wasn’t careless, I wouldn’t have to have been subjected to the
trauma and worry I was sentenced.

Driving
is a privilege; you take your life and the life of someone else into
your hands the moment you start the car. When reckless behavior is
paired with control of a deadly vehicle, the outcome is never pretty.

38,000 people die
every year from crashes on U.S roads. This number is astronomical,
and the education of these instances are one that should be greatly
prioritized. The rules of the road are important to protect everyone.
That is why I am motivated to learn and practice safe driving rules
and techniques.
