It only takes one mistake.

D mistake happening in the car, everything could be ended. With one flick of the radio, one ding of a phone, one distraction could end it all. Car safety doesn’t stop at no distracted driving. It also goes about paying attention to the things happening around you. You must know that you are not only driving for yourself, but for other people as well. When you step foot into a car, you are becoming that car for the time being, and protecting yourself is the most important task. It only takes one simple mistake, one simple distraction, one simple miscommunication to turn a nice car ride into a scaring crash. When I was younger, I was involved in a car crash, along with my mother, and my sister—who was a baby at the time. My mother was driving, and she had the right away, but she forgot to drive for someone else as well. A car ran a red light and crashed into us, on the passenger side. This experience was out of body for me. I felt weak, unable to do anything, helpless. I had always had the belief that this couldn’t happen to me, it was to cliché, and things did work that way. Only they did. I would never fault my mother because she was in the right, but one thing that was forgotten, was to drive for others. It is important to instill these types of things in the heads of learners because it is important for them to be alert of their surrounds. Not everyone is going to be in a good state of mind while driving, but it’s your responsibility to keep them out of harm’s way, when you’ve come into their presence, vice versa. Car safety and learning car safety is important to me because that time, my family and I got lucky. There are so many teenagers and adults who didn’t get a second chance, so many who unluckily didn’t make it. It is also important to keep reminding that in these situations, you’re not invincible, it can happen to you! It is important that you keep yourself alert and aware, because with one mistake, everything can be gone. Not everyone gets second chances, not everyone made it out alive, not everyone made it out able bodied, not everyone got to save everyone in the car. Cars are a beautiful creation that obviously has its downfalls, before you step into a car, learn how to try to avoid those downfalls. Educating yourself on these matters are most important because while you think you’ve known this entire time; it never hurts to be reminded about it. Drivers ed is also important because it will help you learn more and more about the safety of the, sometimes, not so safe road. Drivers ed is a class that will enhance your future and make your life better!
