Steps taken to prevent car accidents
Driver education is a step taken to ensure every driver’s safety on the road. Without rules and regulations chaos is created on the streets. Not everyone has the same mindset and attitude towards the same matter. If everyone just drives as they wish there will be ten times more accidents. With a driver’s education, everyone has the same rules to follow, which creates less confusion and an understanding of how to drive. Rules like not speeding, being aware of signs, putting on a seatbelt, and signaling when turning are important factors when it comes to reducing the number of deaths? Why? When speeding and not having their seatbelt on is putting the driver’s life in danger and a walker because at any moment that driver can come to a full stop and crash through the window and hit someone walking because they couldn’t stop in time. There are many more factors that can cause high death tolls but with a driver’s education, all of that can be prevented.
The number one cause of car accidents is the driver being distracted. He can be distracted by his or her phone which can result in them not looking at the road. That can be fixed with their phones being connected to the car, so they don’t have to worry about lifting their phone to check messages or missed phone calls. Common precautions to take are to wear seat belts, obey traffic laws, have a designated driver, or take an uber come. These preventive measures are doable and efficient. A better way to manage the speed limit would be highly effective. About 50% of drivers exceed the speed limit and cause 26% of fatalities. In addition, there is drunk driving. Many people under the influence believe they will be fine driving until they find themselves in jail for something they cannot take back. It is very common to have incidents like this happen. Drunk driving causes more than 10,000 deaths every year.
I have experienced my mother’s husband driving irresponsibly, everytime I ask him why he drives above the speed limit, he blames it on how he used to drive in the army. He doesn’t realize that he can put my mother and I in danger with the way he drives. It scares my mother and tries to tell him but he never changes the way he drives. It is also cultural, many people in my country drive irresponsibly, they speed, they don’t stop at the lights and they ignore the signs on the road. Some of them didn’t get a proper driver’s education because they chose not to. I have experienced many times where my life was put at risk by a car or motorcycle not stopping when crossing the street. The worst part is that they will blame me and act as if it was my fault. People not following regulations of the road are putting many people’s lives at risk, including theirs. In the past years, they got a lot because law enforcement wasn’t really on top of the driving in Morocco. But now things have gotten stricter and made drivers in morocco realize they should obey the driving rules imposed. 12,000 sustained severe injuries annually. On average, there are 10 deaths and 33 serious injuries per day by morocco world news. That number is very high.
When I start my driver’s license course, I will make sure to study all the driver’s codes and rules. I will listen to my teacher when he is explaining how to drive and the precautions to take when driving. When I officially start driving I won’t go past the speed limit and put my seat belt on. I won’t take examples of the other drivers on the road. I will pay attention at all times to my surroundings. Cut off all distractions That will ensure my safety as well as other drivers and jaywalkers on the road. Most importantly I will always be calm when getting into my car. I find road rage very extreme in Morocco and it can take multiple turns in creating car accidents. Keeping my distance from other cars in case the other car suddenly stops, I will not crash into them.
To conclude a good driver’s education is essential to someone that is behind the wheel. It prevents catastrophic accidents and deaths. Taking a simple step can prevent a major event from occurring.
