The Importance of Driver Education

When it comes to reducing the number of driving-related deaths, driver education plays a crucial role. While driver education will not eliminate the problem entirely, it will teach drivers to eliminate destructive items while driving and will teach drivers techniques to monitor and control their speed; as a result, this will lead to the reduction of the number of deaths caused by driving. When it comes to distractive items such as phones, food, and drinks this could lead the driver to not pay attention to their surroundings and lose focus on driving. For instance, texting and driving is a well-known cause of car accidents. If society were to stop driving while being distracted, then the number of deaths caused by driving would decrease. As for speed control, if drivers in today’s age were to learn how to properly control their speed, then the amount of death caused by driving would decrease. With driving classes teaching students how to properly control speed, the amount of driving-related deaths would decrease. Fortunately, I have not been in a car accident; however, I have seen my family drive irresponsibly. Speed control, or the lack thereof, is the primary cause of my family’s irresponsible driving. With me, however, I was able to receive formal instruction on driving techniques that enabled me to effectively control my speed. In addition, this training has also taught me the consequences of distracted driving, which caused me to not use distractive items while driving. By doing this I would not only increase my safety, but I would also increase the safety of other drivers.
