SPREAD THE WORD: ALWAYS DRIVE SAFELY

Whenever you think of a weapon you think of the ones used in the military or in combats. But a weapon that we see in our everyday lives is a car. Driving a car is managing a weapon and that’s why there is so much stress placed on driving education. If we make sure each and every driver is cautious while driving we can help in reducing the amount of deaths that sadly happen everyday from reckless driving. In order to reduce deaths we can start by promoting less phone usage while driving, even if the light is red because you have to give your full attention to the road. As well as making sure you need to get to your destination by trying to arrive earlier than needed. Lastly, consider lowering the volume in music and talking to someone to concentrate more on the road. If there is too much talking or loud music, you will not be able to hear any noise outside. From personal experience I have never been in a car accident but I have many times been close to being in one. It’s extremely scary and terrifying because you never know if you’ll be there the next day, and wearing my seatbelt has always kept me in place from those random big halts the car makes. Also, my family or friends never drive recklessly because I would have never entered the car if I knew my life and their life would be in danger. To be a better and safer driver we can think of the amount of lives that are lost due to bad driving each and every day, because of reckless driving I lost my grandfather from my mother’s side. My mother was only a few years old when her father died in her home country, Guatemala, because of a car crashed. It’s extremely upsetting because he left behind many children and me and my siblings never had the chance to meet him. It’s even more heartbreaking to know that my mother never had a father figure in her life. But, thankfully, her other siblings were much older than her and began providing and taking care of her since she would have also had no parent figure. So, it’s for the best not to take any risks and save as many lives as possible. Since, everyone matters and no one should have to fear if their loved one will come back home safely. What’s even worse that if someone does happen to survive a car crash they are most often then not left with a life changing issues, such as health related issues that can affect them mentally, emotionally, and physically. Some may not even have health insurance to cover the costs of their medical or hospital bills. That’s why I believe that if you’re mindful of others then you should always be respectful while driving. You never know if another person driving one day will be a friend or a family member
