DRIVING EDUCATION AND ITS EFFECT ON OUR LIVES

Driving education has always been important and played a key role in older times when people learned how to drive. As time passed, people, especially younger ones began to be taught by family or friends without taking into consideration the risk associated with driving.

In cities with heavy traffic and aggressive drivers, this becomes even more critical.

  1. What is the importance of driver education in reducing the number deaths as a result of driving?

Driving education is key in many factors above and beyond what drivers feel they need to know. Especially young adults starting to drive need to understand the importance of knowing the physical aspect of driving and laws, but to learn about issues often not addressed other than as illegal or not. For example, the consumption of alcohol, marijuana legal in many states, and even prescription drugs are often the main cause of tragedies in driving. Some might think that a beer may have no effect, nonetheless, depending on the person, health history, etc., can be catastrophic.

Not enough importance drivers place on being aware of your surrounding drivers, and aggressive drivers who speed or cut people off causing major accidents.

  1. What steps can be taken to reduce the number of deaths related to driving?

As a young driver, I think it is important to emphasize the substance issues associated with driving. Showing slides or actual footage of what has happened in real life, I believe has a more effective result than just reading about it.

Teaching drivers to be aware, not just drive, of your surroundings and the drivers around you is essential. The aggressive drivers on the road are a cause of many accidents and fatalities.  

Encouraging drivers until they become experienced and comfortable, to avoid highways and use roads is important. The speed limit and drivers on highways are critical around new drivers, and its consequences.

And unfortunately, common, no texting or using phone while driving.

  1. What is the importance of driver education in reducing the number deaths as a result of driving? What steps can be taken to reduce the number of deaths related to driving?

This question is addressed in number 1 and 2 above. The importance of driver’s education is essential in the safety of ourselves and others.

  1. Have you ever had an experience of being in car accident or have seen your friends or family members driving irresponsibly?

I have never been involved in a car accident, and my parents ensure driver’s education before I was able to drive. I do haveD seen what I consider family members driving irresponsibly.

  1. What steps can you take to be a better and safer driver as well as help others become safer on the road?

With technology today, parents can install applications on the phones to at a minimum know if they are speeding. Additionally, parents can encourage an ensure young adults take the necessary education to be responsible drivers.
