Journey to Safer Highways

With the youth now learning to drive, there’s always a chance that those who are amongst the youth group who become eligible to drive may have reckless thoughts and actions when driving. There can also be those who didn’t undergo proper training and courses to ensure that they can be safe themselves on the road, but not is all guaranteed when it should be. With this, there can be steps to prevent the mishaps of young drivers causing accidents and not just young drivers, but for everyone.

With the many accidents that occur on the daily and climbing quickly, we need to ensure that the importance of Driver’s ED is known to everyone. With the right resources and the right time, we can ensure that with the cooperation of schools ranging from middle school to high school, there can be programs for those eligible to drive and offer driving courses at schools. Since there’s not a lot of that happening, it’s making the roads become more dangerous and very unsafe for those who just get into a car claiming that they know how to drive and yes, while that may be the case, it’s very much illegal. From personal experiences, I’ve seen many unsafe drivers throughout a couple states where California is one of them and there’s not that many drivers who know how to drive safely and just know how to operate a car. If anything, there needs to be stricter rules regarding the young drivers.

As I mentioned before regarding the steps to reduce deaths, there can be more classes offered and more simulations put in so that every driver of a young age and old can revisit and relearn what to do in a situation. Seeing people be unsafe while driving due to many reasons is very worrying for me since I’ve been part of minor and almost a couple major crashes which scare you to hear that youth are becoming the issue of causing the deaths of driving.

With the new technologies assuring safety, we can’t rely on that all the time as the only person we have to rely on being safe is yourself. With a young driver being able to drive, we can have those who are driving and have a license at a young age before eighteen should require someone who is over eighteen and has a license be in the car with the young driver until said driver turns eighteen. Another way is when the driver turns eighteen to undergo another driving test to make sure that they know how to drive safely on the roads. There are many ways to ensure safety in driving and there’s devices that prevent drivers who are intoxicated or low on energy from driving and that’s what we need to implement more. With having these extra safety devices, we can all have a safer driving experience so everyone can have fun.

Whether it’s with friends or family, we can all use a nice safe, enjoyable driving experience so we don’t have to have constant thought of dealing with unsafe drivers when the time comes and cause crashes or be a part of them as a result. Everything happens so quickly, yet there’s no time to react which can either make or break your driving experiences.

Personally, since I don’t drive, I can still make sure that I can take the proper procedures so in the case that I do drive, I know what to do. For instance, reporting unsafe drivers on the road, not driving or asking someone else to drive if I’m low on energy or perhaps wait a couple hours until I feel okay to drive then make short distance trips so in the event that I feel tired, I’ll be right at home and done with the trip. If I’m on the freeway and need to take a rest, crank up the radio or have a friend next to me so I can keep myself awake until the next rest stop. Even in the most trying of times, we all can be safe everywhere we go in a car. There’s the basic things like moving over when you see a motorcyclist, using your signals when turning and using your seatbelt (it’s the law!) and having another driver with you in any emergency so you are not putting any other motorist in harm’s way as well as yourself.

With this being said, we can all take our own steps, the suggestions in this essay, and the steps of the law to ensure that we are all safe on the road so we all have an enjoyable and relaxing drive wherever we go without having the thought of dealing with unsafe drivers or being or causing accidents that can injure or cause death to others.
