The leading cause of death in the United States is driving accidents.  Driving accidents are caused by a copious quantity of reasons: no seat belts, driving in an unsafe vehicle, distractions, misuse of alcohol and drugs while driving, being tired or upset, et cetera.  There are more than 38,000 deaths in driving accidents a year in the United States which trickles down to everyone in one hundred and three people in the United States are involved in a driving accident.  It is unacceptable for this many accidents to be the cultural normal.

Driver education helps reduce an ample amount of deaths every year by helping young drivers learn the importance of being safe while driving.  In using drivers education students are able to see the importance of driving safely.  It is proven that young drivers who have not taken driver’s education will have a twenty four percent chance they will be involved in an injury accident and a sixteen percent chance to have an accident.  Therefore, those who choose to take driving education will be able to know the best ways to handle situations given to them.  To summarize, drivers having taken driver’s education will be more prepared for the road and all obstacles coming along with it.

To abate the number of deaths associated with driving accidents, the law force can increase their watch of violators.  If police are strict with the rules of the road, hands-free driving, alcohol/drug tests, and safe vehicles, it will decrease the amount of accidents while driving.  The examples above are some of the most common reasons for driving accidents.  Therefore, assisting these examples will reduce the number of deaths.  The increased watch of the law force will help moderate unnecessary deaths with driving accidents.

I have never been in a car accident.  Nevertheless, I have witnessed irresponsible driving. A lot of my friends are irresponsible drivers, for instance, driving over the speed limit by a significant amount.  This and many more reasons cause accidents and hurt other people in the process.

In order to be a safer driver and help others become safer, for instance: following rules, even when others are not looking, not being distracted, and not having to be in a rush will help become safer.  Drivers are occupied by their phone, which distracts them from focusing on the road.  Fixing this problem will help people be more aware of their surroundings and preventing accidents from happening.  There are apps silencing phones when they are in a moving vehicle.  Using these apps and making other precautions will help create safe roads.

Driving accidents in the United States are the main cause of death.  As stated above, drivers education courses help young drivers to be confident in driving on the roads and increasing patrols will keep roads safe and suppress driving accidents.  Furthermore, following the rules of the road and being cautious will help roads be safer.  Changing the cultural norm for driving will affect future generations.
