Drivers Education Essay

Driver education is one of the most important asset to have before deciding to drive on the road. When it comes to safety, learning how to drive is the number one skill that you have to have in order to ensure safety to you and to other drivers on the road. The number of deaths that come from accidents on the road are more than 38,000 a year and are the leading causes of death in the U.S.

Taking a Driver’s Ed class can help students with learning signals, signs, different parking styles, and the know-hows when dealing with the unexpected out on the street. Driving isn’t about just getting to your destination, it’s about knowing safety and being mindful of others as well as yourself while on the road.

The steps that can be taken to reduce the amounts of death that we experience related to driving would have to be to keep the drivers ed. classes going in school and to also offer them every 10 years to aging adults. This could help because most adults go out in the world and forget or mindlessly ignore the skills that they’ve learned about driving before they drove on the road. Another way would be buckling up your seat belt before driving and making a habit of putting the seat belt on everyone and every time you step in the car and prepare to pull off. This will ensure that everyone in your vehicle is safe and will be safely transported to their destination. One last way would be to avoid texting while behind the wheel. Texting friends and family has become so common while driving that some automobiles offer the comfort of reading your text message out to you and letting you have the option to send a text message out loud. Other vehicles offer the no text app on your phone where if someone tries to text you it will text them back that you are driving. I believe that these methods are providing a one-step closer effect to reducing the deaths from driving.

When I was younger, I experimented with driving and got into an accident because I thought that I could to impress my friends. I knew to put my seat belt on but I didn’t think about if I would have lived or died in that car. I totaled the car and got a few scratches and bruises, but I am thankful that I am here today. The steps that can be taken to ensure that everyone stays safe on the road would be to ultimately be mindful of the dangers that can happen, but stay educated and alert on the roads so that everyone reaches their destination safely. Always remember your seat belt, never text and drive, never get behind the wheel if you are intoxicated or stimulated, and always make room for your local pedestrians and animals.
