Importance of Drivers Ed

Drivers Education is the first step to a smart and attentive driver. This program teaches future drivers rules and safety measures of the road that drivers without this class may not know. Taking this class will make the driver more familiar with the signs and situations that may appear when driving. Going through this process before getting behind the wheel will guarantee that you are confident and comfortable when driving.

Lacking the knowledge about driving increases your chance of being involved in an accident. Accidents are more likely to occur with drivers that didn’t participate in Drivers Ed because they are not relaxed and comfortable with driving a car, since they lack the knowledge of the information, they would have learned in Drivers Ed. Without the class you will be unsure how traffic works and unfamiliar with the signs and the laws of the road. The more information you know about your car and the rules of the road the more likely you will be a safe driver and avoid a fatal accident.

Fatal accidents are way too common and can be prevented by always paying attention to your surroundings, following all traffic laws, not driving distracted, and avoiding all drugs and alcohol. Only drive when all your senses are aware of your surroundings. Not only do you need to be 100% when driving, but your car does as well. A great deal of fatal accidents are due to drivers not knowing something is wrong with their car. Knowing how your car works and how to indicate when something is wrong is an important skill Drivers Ed teaches you.

Plenty of deaths can be avoided by wearing your seatbelt, following the speed limit and not using your phone when driving. These are all guidelines that people learn in Drivers Ed and it is important to utilize this information when driving. To prevent an accident, I will make sure I or whoever is driving are following these guidelines and any other law of the road. The leading cause of accidents are due to distracted drivers. This is mainly due to cell phones. In past events people I have driven with have used their phone when behind the wheel. In the future to avoid an accident I will insist on making the call or text for them. If I am the driver, I will ask a passenger to do my task for me and if there are no passengers I will wait until I am no longer on the road. I encourage all of you to do the same and not let phones distract you or others when on the road considering nothing is worth yours or some else’s safety. I encourage everyone planning to get their license to take Drivers Ed since the class sets you up for success. I know without that class I would not be the safe and confident driver I am today.
