The importance of driver education in reducing the number of deaths as a result of driving is, providing drivers with safety techniques to use. When new drivers take driver’s education, it helps reduce the number of accidents and deaths. Drivers’ education shows individuals how to drive safely and what to do while driving. This lets the driver know important information that they need to know while operating a vehicle. It also lets the new driver understand what to do in certain situations, which is extremely useful. This extra guidance can be extremely valuable in avoiding being in a car crash which can result in death. Many deaths are related to driving but there are certain steps people can take to help reduce these numbers. A few steps that can be taken to reduce the number of deaths related to driving is, following all the driving laws. Important laws like not drinking while driving, not driving with little sleep, and not driving under the influence of drugs. Driving without a seatbelt and following the speeding limit is a law that lots of people tend to break, I feel like this is extremely important in avoiding deaths related to driving. Even simple things like distracting driving can cause deaths with driving, eating while driving, using your phone, or blasting your music to the max. Taking these steps can help immensely in reducing deaths while driving. Lots of people’s reckless driving has resulted in them ending up in a car crash. I, unfortunately, have had the experience of being in a car accident with my mom. My mom was stopped at a red light when a car came and slammed into the side of the car. I was in the passenger seat witnessing all that was happening, it all happened so fast. Lucky, my mom and I were ok and so was the person who hit us. We later found out that the person crashed into us because she was texting and driving, she was distracted and it had consequences. This is why I find it extremely important for everyone to be focused behind the wheel and follow the driving laws. I have also seen a couple of my friends drive irresponsibly, whether it be speeding or texting and driving. Whenever I do see any irresponsible driving while in the car, I alert the driver so that I feel safer. Being a better and safe driver is one of my top priorities. One step I can take to be a better and safer driver is always being focused on the road. Driving with no distractions is the best and safest way to drive to avoid accidents. Another way would be not depending on other drivers. You never know what the other driver may do or whether they will follow the laws. Additionally, knowing to slow down in certain conditions such as heavy rain can make a huge difference in a person’s safety. As long as you follow the driving laws and pay attention, you should be a better and safer driver. All this information applies to other drivers being safer on the road too.
