The Importance of Driver’s Education

The Importance of Driver’s Education

The importance of driver’s education is getting to know the rules of the road. Knowing the rules of the road by taking tests and practicing them will help you remember them every time you are driving. This will reduce the number of deaths and accidents that happen daily. Driver’s education prepares you to drive safely and with precautions. People who take driver’s education tend to think more before they do an action on the road. It’s like a quick checklist in your brain, in order to obey the rules of the road and not cause any type of accidents or deaths.

Steps that can be taken on the road to reduce the number of deaths is first taking driver’s education before getting your driver’s license. This helps you get to know the rules of the road and obeying them. They teach you rules of the road and avoiding distractions such as, texting and driving. You cannot drive under the influence of drugs and alcohol, even medicine that can make you sleepy. Some rules on the road that must be obeyed to reduce the number of accidents is to scan the road ahead, no tailgating, look at your mirrors every other second, etc.

I have only been in one accident in my entire life, and thankfully there weren’t any big injuries, only sore bones. I was in an accident when my mom was the driver and I was in the passenger seat. The car was in the stop line because the traffic lights were red. Our car was stopped and all of a sudden, we feel a strong force in the back of the car. My mom looked back and she saw that a police car hit us. She noticed police before that he was looking at his monitor in the police car. This is one of the most important rules of the road to not get distracted! That day the police disobeyed one of the most talked rules of the road and caused us an accident. It’s really ironic that police disobey the laws since they are the ones always implying them and encouraging them.

Some steps you can take to be a better and safer driver is to follow the rules of the road and encourage other people to follow them as well. Motivate them to not text and drive, also not to drive under the influence of drugs and alcohol. As long as you follow the rules and make sure you are obeying them at all times you will be a safe driver, but sometimes accidents happen from others that is why it’s important to encourage others to obey them.
