Saving a life through proper drivng

As someone who has been through two cancer battles during my childhood, I know firsthand how precious life can be. Unfortunately, people who do not follow the rules of the road or not have the proper driver’s education, get into driving accidents that take either their life or other driver’s life. Those people who do have the proper driving education and follow the rules of the road don’t get into many driving accidents. Drivers with the proper driving education are also less likely to get into a serious driving education where another driver is killed.

The most important step there is to reduce the amount of deaths is to make sure there is there is the best driver’s education that is available. When new incoming drivers have the proper education before getting behind the wheel, they are less likely to get into a car accident, which should reduce the amount of deaths. Behind new and existing drivers having the proper driving education, there needs to be many laws punishing drivers who don’t drive safe. Making sure the number of drivers who drive irresponsible are as low as possible would reduce the amount of deaths. Too many drivers, especially teenagers drive irresponsible without thinking about the other drivers on the road, which leads to an increase in the amount of car accidents.

My heart drop upon being told my former uncle had been in a motorcycle accident. He was driving his motorcycle and had hit a pothole in the road he didn’t see, causing his motorcycle to tip to the side. Shortly after the accident I visited him only to see him in a hospital bed with metal rods in both of his legs. My heart become frozen because I had thought I was going to have to see him in a wheelchair for the rest of my life. My former uncle had to go through intensive physical therapy along with medicine to get his legs working again, luckily thanks to god, he is fully capable of walking today. This experience had shown me that if we can create better roads, it can help decrease the amount of driving accidents.

For me to become a better and safer driver, there are many steps I can take. Every time I get behind the wheel I need to remember that there’s not only my life, but the passengers in my car, and other drivers on the road in my hands. When I drive I should be aware of all my surroundings, as I have been told too many times that a car accident can happen from a driver not being fully aware of their surrounds. When I drive I need to stay away from distractions such as my phone, car radio, and not looking at the road. I can help others be better drivers by telling them about my cancer experience, and how they can easily take away someone else life by not being a good driver
