Drivers Education Essay

Driver education plays a big role in reducing the number of deaths caused by driving incidents. When teens who are learning to drive get this education, they are able to better learn the ways of the road and what the difference from right and wrong is, which will result in fewer car accidents. Drivers that take Drivers Ed are able to look at the road differently than those who don’t take Drivers Ed; they are able to notice the smaller things that most drivers don’t pay attention to but should.

In order to reduce the amount of deaths caused by driving, drivers should obey the rules of the road, avoid any distractions around them, notice the small but important things occurring on the road, and always make sure your car is functioning correctly before leaving the previous location. There are many drivers that think that driving faster will get them to their destination on time, but in reality it will only create dangers to not only that driver but to the other people around them, and they will most likely still not make it on time. Drivers should make sure that their phones are silenced so that they don’t get distracted by any phone calls or text messages; if the person calling you has something urgent to tell you then they will most likely leave a message and you can check it after you have arrived safely to your destination. Those who choose to take the call or look at the message put themselves and others at danger if they can’t see what is happening in front of them or behind them in time to stop and take the correct precautions. Drivers may not think it’s important to check for the small things that are happening on the road, but it is however very important to do because you might see something small wrong with the road that can create huge damage or you might even see something go across the road that someone might try to chase after but you don’t know it. Checking before you leave to make sure that your car is working well is very important because if something is wrong with your brakes, tires, or headlights then it can put people at risk.

I have personally never been in a car accident before but I have seen friends driving over the speed limit to the point where I tell them something about it so they change it. Some steps that I can take to become a better driver is to always keep your eyes on the road, get rid of as many distractions as possible, always wear a seatbelt correctly, and adjust everything how you need it before the car begins to move.
