Why drivers education should be taken seriously

Drivers education is crucial knowledge that every single driver should be familiar with. If someone is allowed to get behind the wheel, then that means they are at risk of putting their life and anyone else’s life in the vehicle in danger. Therefore, the driver should be fully aware of every consequence possible and should be taking all precautions necessary in order to avoid mishaps. There is no such thing as taking too many precautions to reduce the number of deaths related to driving because it is always better to be safe than to be sorry. It is not just the driver’s life at risk but many other lives at risk also. It is for that reason, why these safety measures should be taken very seriously. I myself am very strict when it comes to taking these safety precautions and very solemnly because I myself have had the unfortunate experience of being part of a car accident a little over a year ago. My friend was driving, I was in the passenger seat while our other two other friends were in the backseat. We were all on our way to a 30-minute destination so this was all taken place on the freeway while going at around 70 mph. While changing lanes to our right, everyone noticed that the car started shaking very strangely. We didn’t think much of it until those trembles started getting stronger and stronger by the second. We started to panic, unsure of what exactly was happening. My friend who was driving tried her best to control the wheel. She then tried to brake, but the car would not slow down at all. Instead, the car just started to speed up because the freeway was starting to lead downhill. It was at that moment where she lost complete control of the wheel and we ended up swerving all the way towards our left, ramming right into where the wall was and crashed instantly. At that time, all of our focus was towards the front, so when we looked around us, trying to take in what had just happened. We had noticed that the back tires were on fire and broken car parts had left a trail for about .5 miles behind. Luckily, someone had stopped and checked up on us and called the ER since all of our phones had either been lost or broken. To sum up the ending, everyone in the car was still alive and breathing which is what mattered the most. This experience really opened my eyes to all the unfortunate events that can happen. Whether if someone is driving responsibly or not, literally anything else can happen that probably wasn’t resulting from anyone’s driving. Incidents can happen out of our control whether we saw it coming or not. When people think of car accidents, they may be thinking of 2 car collisions due to driving irresponsibly, but as you can see with my situation, our own vehicle was the one the primary cause of our own fate. I know that everything could’ve turned out a lot worse than what had actually happened and I am grateful that we all made it out alive in one piece. I believe the lesson learned from this tragic experience was that you have to take extra precautions such as frequent car checks to make sure that your car is performing well before allowing that vehicle to be out on the road. We had not done that before we had left so ultimately, it was the driver’s fault that the car had broken down and got totaled. If you do not, then you are not only putting everyone in your car at risk but all the vehicles around you at risk also. We were lucky enough to not have crashed into anyone else on the freeway. Maintenance routine checks are one of the most important precautions to take before proceeding to take your car out for a drive. You should make sure that its engines and every other part are in good condition. Some people may not be aware of just how great of an impact on your car’s performance because not everyone understands just how impactful it may be. If the car has not been internally doing well, then it will not perform well either which then puts the vehicle at a very high risk of breaking down abruptly. There are many other situations where other factors could have played a part in accidents such as driving under the influence, getting distracted, speeding, weather, and much more. Besides that, I really do believe that the very first most important step that anyone should be taking is to make sure that their vehicle is in good enough condition to operate before we shift our focus onto other aspects.
