Drivers ed

On
average there are 3,287 deaths per day due to car accidents. This is
a very high number of deaths that needs to be reduced. Driver
education is very important and I think some more focus needs to be
on the dangers of driving and how to be as safe as you can. I think a
main focus on drivers ed should be defensive driving, and
teaching new drivers on how to drive defensively. When you drive you
should always be aware of what’s going on around you and understand
that everyone can be unpredictable and it’s your job to notice and
react to other drivers. It is the best way to prevent crashes where
the drivers expect everyone else to be safe and follow the rules. I
think that the drivers ed system needs to have a strong focus
on being aware and making sure that the driver is defensive and
follows the laws to not put themselves and others in harm’s way. I
have been fortunate to have parents that taught me how to drive this
way and I do not know of anyone close to me that has gotten into a
car crash. I feel like the best steps I can take to be safe on the
road is to continue being a defensive driver and paying attention to
everything around me. I will also make sure that I inform everyone I
know how important it is to that defensive driver and make sure that
they are informed about the statistics and different things they can
do to be safe.
