Driver
education is in fact the most important step we can take to reduce
the number of deaths occurring due to careless and reckless drivers.
Just simply having the knowledge and preparedness in every situation
on the road is ideal for creating a safe environment for everyone.
Accidents can 100% be avoided if everyone takes initiative to make an
effort to learn the maneuvers of traffic and emphasize the importance
of safety. It is absolutely mind-blowing that the number of deaths
from car accidents has towered over deaths caused by revolutionary
wars. The only simple and obvious difference between the two
scenarios is those car accidents caused by poor driving can
absolutely be avoided.

One
major influence we can put on drivers everywhere is the importance of
taking drivers ed. It is understandable that this may bore people to
death but in reality, if drivers lack important knowledge of the law
on the road then that may indeed lead them to death in many cases.
Also, it helps their car insurance. One thing I appreciate about
receiving a permit is you have to study the driver’s manual to do
well on the exam. It also would not hurt anyone if everyone was
provided one whether they simply throw it on their desk or put it to
good use. I’d be willing to take that chance to reduce the number
of accidents. Also, all jokes aside, backseat drivers should be
praised. Yes, I agree that they can be extremely annoying and
distracting but most of the time, they know what they are talking
about. Essentially, the spread of knowledge regarding driver
education would be an important attribute to creating a safe world to
drive in.

When
I was about nine years old. My father’s girlfriend and I got into
an intense accident on an icy road. We were going around a hard turn
and came across a patch of black ice. My driver was not paying
attention whatsoever and did not notice that we were even going
around a tight turn and proceeded to stay at the same speed rather
than slow down. She was also on her cell phone calling my father.
When we went over the patch of black ice, we spun out at an extreme
speed and crashed into the guard rail. We had a small car so there
was quite an amount of damage. My side of the car hit the guard rail
and the impact made me crash into the door giving me a concussion and
several bruises on my arm. My driver was frustrated about the damage
to the car and never asked me if I was okay. I was lucky to not have
broken anything. This experience made me think about a lot of things.
First, we should emphasize the danger of being distracted while
driving and put more care and consideration into our passengers.
