Making The Roads A Safer Place

1.) What is the importance of drivers ed in reducing the number deaths as a result of driving?

Drivers ed is important in reducing the amount of deaths because it promotes awareness and obedience of the safety laws and precautions. With more people following the safety precautions while driving, less deaths will occur.

2.) What steps can be taken to reduce the number of deaths related to driving?

The first step is to educate drivers on the laws and how to properly drive. They should also be warned of the consequences of driving irresponsibly. I think that more people should be warned or shown the results of irresponsible driving because driving should always be taken seriously because of how dangerous it can potentially be. The next step should be encouraging people to learn how to drive with a certified driving instructor. This is because they are trained in driving and could correct mistakes early before they become a dangerous habit. Another step that should be taken is to raise awareness of drunk driving. People should be encouraged to use the bus, taxi, or similar services when they are under the influence to avoid accidents.

3.) Have you ever had an experience of being in a car accident or have seen your friends or family members driving irresponsibly?

I have never been in a car accident and my family drives responsibly. However, I’ve unfortunately heard that some of my classmates have been driving under the influence.

4.) What steps can you take to be a better and safer driver as well as help others become safer on the road?

Some steps I take to be a safer driver is that I never use my phone unless I am parked somewhere safe. I encourage my friends to do the same because I believe that taking your eyes off the road for even a few seconds could be dangerous. I also make sure that I am not too close to the car in front of me to avoid hitting them in case of a sudden stop. I also double check and stop for pedestrians at every intersection. I also like to help my friends with driving by looking back and checking for cars and people when they back out of a parking spot if they can’t see.
