Safe, It’s Not A Game

Drive
means to be wise to protect yourself and others on the road. To have
a previous driving education is essential for this process. It is
important before starting to ride, to be familiar with the
regulations that are taken in consideration for driving. It is also
very important to know the car that you’re going to drive. Having an
experienced driver who teach you, and explain you all this
information is a most. This driver will be also very helpful in
driving practice sessions. This previous education will prepare you
to be ready for the time of hitting the road. It will make you feel
more confident, and familiar with the road. As a result, you’ll be a
driver with knowledge of what to do, and you will be an individual
that protects others on the road.

Approximately
34,000 people die every year in car accidents. The leading causes of
these accidents are: distracted driving, speeding, driving under the
influence, driving drowsy, etc. The most effective solution to avoid
this problem is to be prudent. If you know you’re not able to drive a
100% focus, you have to look for alternatives; such as, using public
transportation, taking an uber, or if you have a friend, or related
who’s in good conditions to drive, you can let him drive. Knowing
your capability to drive, and being honest with you, can save lives.

In
Dominican Republic, the country I used to live before, I had three
car accidents. In two of them I hit another car, and in the other I
got hit. The reason of the two accidents that were my fault was
distracted driving. I had lot of things to do both of those days, and
there were lot of things in my head. Thank God, none of these
accidents put my life or the others’ drivers under risk. In all of
them I was driving under the speed limit; but despite that, I learned
that driving is more serious than what I thought, and that I need to
focus only on the road.

I
can be a better driver by assuming the responsibility that implies to
drive. Be concentrated, and know that an unwisely decision can make
others take actions, that can put their lives, and others’ lives
under risk. I have learned from my mistakes, and past experiences,
and I can share them with others, to let them know, the consequences
of bad driving.

In
this essay I summarize the importance of having a previous driving
education, and what means to drive safe.
