Drivers ed

Drivers ed plays a major role in reducing the number of vehicular deaths. When you educate people more on the responsibilities of driving and how they can negatively affect their lives and other people’s lives the more cautious they will be on the road. If we can educate the young on the dangers of irresponsible driving, we can help keep them safe on the road. If they learn the lights in their car, they can notice low tire pressure, if their oil needs to be changed etc. They should also learn how a car feels so that if their alignment is off or if their breaks are staring to wear down, they would notice it before it became deadly. Education is key to keeping everyone safe on the road.

There are many steps that we can take to lower driving related deaths. One step is that we can create similar programs to D.A.R.E and other public safety teachings in primary schools. To help teach them at the youngest age possible to drive responsibly. We can also raise the amount of money a speeding ticket costs and possible revocation of the license after so many offenses. There could be more adds that warn of the dangers of irresponsible driving similar to the don’t text and drive advertisements.

I have fortunately never been in an accident, however; I have lost an acquaintance in an accident. The other person was not paying attention and ended up hitting her in her car after school let out. She was in a coma for a few days after the accident and eventually was taken off of life support. The school had 30 seconds of silence when she passed away and counselors came to our academy because that’s where she was best known.

I follow all the road laws and safety precautions, but I could use my turn signals further out from the turn I am going to make. If I notice a friend is violating a safety precaution, I could tell them and warn them of the dangers of breaking it. I could post more things about driving safely. I could even participate in or organize marches to warn others of how dangerous driving improperly can be.
