Calm Before The Storm

Hello, my name is D’Marco Marquez and I, like many other people, have been exposed to multiple occurrences of reckless driving. My overall experience stems initially from the day that I first got in a car accident as a child. My family and I were on our way home when we had noticed an accident had occurred far left from where we were driving. As a kid seeing a car total always worried me that there was a possibility that the driver could be in a deadly accident. However, not long after a man on a motorcycle had also noticed the accident, without looking at the stoplight in front of him he ended up rear-ending us. Of course me and my brother were petrified, not only for us but for the man that had slammed into the rear window. Eventually we calmed down and got everything situated, but despite the lack of injury there was trauma as a result of this calm before the storm incident that scarred me for a good year or two. From this experience it has always taught me, especially when learning to drive, to consistently have your eyes on the road whether or not there be a major distraction such as a car accident because you may just end up being the very thing that is putting you at risk.
