Influences in Car Crashes

There are many ways car accidents happen. The reckless behavior of the driver is one of many reasons. Over the years, television and other media outlets have put out warnings to their audience, warning young adults the dangers of driving under the influence and using technology. Even if there are a ton of these ads and warnings, young adults and teens still make the choice to drink and do drugs. Why exactly? The answer could be simple or complex. Something that plays into teen substance abuse is the teenager’s environment. They could grow up with families that are not a positive influence on them.

There is one other issue related to car accidents that are rarely addressed. Road rage is the missing link. I have dealt with people’s road rage and it has caused me major fears and feeling unsafe. Especially in the long car drives. It can last for a long time and feel like the driver will never calm down. Others can relate to the feeling of fear while in the car with a road rager. The driver has all the control with how the car rides go. When they get mad, it shows in how they drive. They make sharp turns, press on the gas pedal, and act so aggressive towards everyone. Sometimes they might even slam their hands on the dashboard of the car. They slam their hands around, but brush it off when someone asks them what is wrong. Drivers should take the time to recollect their thoughts instead of risking their own lives and plenty of others who are in the car or even outside the car.
