Keep it Safe in the Road

Keep it Safe in the Road

I do believe that driving has taken the lives of many people. Even more than wars. Each day in a few seconds someone just dies for driving under the influence. The best thing to do is educate teens and adults the responsible way of driving. That will help lower the numbers.

Teens and adults should have to take classes for driving before getting their driver’s license. A professional would teach them the right way to drive and be more aware of the roads. People would have to take the class and they would learn. They need to have several classes that they must attend before the test. The professional teacher sees if they are ready or not to drive on their own. Each day should be focused on one thing on driving. This would be different then just taking the driving class because it could be a whole month of classes that must be passed.

After passing the test and getting your license many things can be taken to continue safe driving. Like not texting and driving. You could put your phone in silent each time you drive. This keeps you from taking your eyes off the road. Wake up early and manage time wisely. This avoids speeding because you will get to your destination in time. Prepare yourself to do your make up at home and not in the car. You could either hurt yourself when doing your make up while driving or cause an accident. Don’t speed at all or race with other cars. This will cause tickets or jail time. The finale thing is never drink under the influence. If you plan to drink get a destinated driver, call someone, or get an Uber/Lyft/Taxi driver. This would let you drink responsibly.

I have never been in an accident but have avoided many. You could be driving well but others aren’t. Be aware always and this would help getting hit by others. I have experience of losing family members in accidents and this has killed them. The rule of life is to bury your parent and not your child. I lost two cousins because of driving under the influence. They both were drunk and high. One was driving and the other was sitting in the back of the Camero without a seat belt. They were in their small-town Kelseyville bar and decided to take a friend home. They drove just five minutes away from the bar where they crashed into a tree. The street was a straight way where it reached an end to a house. He drove so fast and passed the friend’s house, then went straight to the tree. The car went into flames, but they died in impact. My cousin who was sitting in the back flew to the front and was the one most burnt. My cousin driving was split into two and the friend in the passenger seat also died. The saddest thing was that we couldn’t even open the caskets at the funeral because they were in bad conditions. We couldn’t see them one last time. We have so many families around and they could have called anyone to pick them up. Usually many of my family goes out to drink at the bar but that day it was only them two. They could have asked anyone, but they decided to drive themselves. This one act changed the future of the whole family.

Teens must learn not to do this. More programs need to be formed that explain what can happen when driving under the influence. People can go out to schools and tell them personal experiences. The sad stores could touch the heart of many and end the DUIs. They could also have experience jail time. This harsh consequence can teach them to never drive irresponsible. I hope that my words and experience would touch the hearts of many teens.

I will continue to drive the way I do. I never text and drive. I also don’t speed because I can harm others in the process. The last thing we do is that we pick one of our friends to be the destinated driver. I’m 22 and so far, I’m doing a good job. I hope that my words and experience would touch the hearts of many people to do what is write. It is always one choice that leads to the next thing.
