Speed is not the Key

Driving is a very essential skill to have when one lives in America where places are so separated that one cannot walk from point A to point B in a sufficient amount of time without a car. From the age of 16, one can start to drive without any parental guidance so one can go from one side of the country to another if one wanted to. One can get a driver’s license before they can get a tattoo, buy superglue, fireworks, lottery and be a jury which are all less dangerous than driving a vehicle that can be as dangerous as a gun.

There are many teenagers who do not take driving seriously and feel like when they drive that it is like a game where the fastest one to get from place to place is a very good driver. However, if the parent or driver’s instructor takes all the precautions needed to inform the teen to be careful on the road then there would be fewer accidents. Many teenagers think that since the cars around them are disobeying the rules, they think that they are doing a good job, which is not the case. After studying to take the driver’s test, people do whatever they want as long as there is no police.

I have been in two accidents in my life, the first one my dad was driving and the second one, I was driving. The first one was the other driver’s fault because she was trying to rush to work, which is always a very bad idea to do because when one goes faster there is less time to react to an upcoming obstacle that could destroy the vehicle or others. Many people use the powerful speed of the car to get to places faster without obeying the rules of the road, and there should be more threatening tactics to teach teens that they can hurt anyone. Having such a powerful machine can get over people’s heads and can cause them to have more speed than they should in the vehicle.

When I got into a car accident, I was talking to my friends and just got in the car and got out of the parking space and was greeted with someone else’s vehicle that came out of nowhere. After that day, I always make sure to look both ways everywhere I go because if one does not check, cars can speed from any direction with intense force. People should educate others more about the consequences that come along with driving because when teens first start to drive all they think about are all the possibilities that have opened up to them that they can do when obtaining a driver’s license. In order to reduce the number of deaths from driving, adults must do everything to teach their children to drive cars like they are a fire that can break anything if any little object comes in contact with the car.
