Here are my thoughts
and answers to the many questions of drivers ed. The questions
to be answered are “What is the importance of drivers ed in
reducing the number of deaths as a result of driving”, “What
steps can be taken to reduce the number of deaths related to
driving?, “ have you ever had an experience of being in a car
accident or have seen your friends or family members driving
irresponsibly?”, and “What steps can you take to be a better and
safer driver as well as help others become safer on the road?”. The
importance of drivers ed so that it can help reduce the number
of deaths as a result of driving is extremely significant. Here is a
quote from dmvedu.org that describes how deadly driving can be. The
quote states:

“In
America, an average 34,000 -people die each year as a result of
driving. This is more people who have died in one year as a result of
a driving, than the total number of American soldiers who have died
in one year as a result of driving is more than the total number of
American deaths from the vietnam war.” (DMVedu.org)

After
reading this quote I was shocked because I personally thought that
more people died in war and combat. To prevent as many deaths as
possible involving driving I think it’s very important to teach youth
and elderly the responsibilities of driving. This is important so
they can be aware of the effects that they can cause if proper safety
precautions are not met. I believe if people have drivers ed
embedded in their minds, then that will help them develop more
consciousness for safety for themselves and safety for others. I
myself have been in a couple car accidents in my life. One occured
when I was a toddler so I cannot remember the story at all but the
way my mother describes the event is very scary and she always seems
to get this type of adrenaline rush when she describes it. My second
car accident was after I graduated highschool some friends thought it
would be funny to race up a hill next to each other while I was
present in the back seat of the car. The second car that was filled
with colleagues hit the car I was in and the car traveled off of the
road and onto a curb , while the other car went straight into a tree,
Luckily nobody was hurt by this event. These are examples of people
driving irresponsibly.

To
become a better and safer driver one of the biggest steps I can take
is to drive slow. In the bay area because traffic is common around
three O clock, so when citizens are within traffic they drive out of
emotions which are usually caused by impatiens and when there is no
traffic they want to speed because they know what traffic feels like
and they want to beat traffic.

To try and make the
roads safer I myself can go slower that way I can try to avoid these
drivers maneuvers and keep myself as safe as possible. I can also
help friends and family by telling them to try and take the same
precautions I take as well. When it comes to driving people need to
basically need to think more about others and less of themselves.
When it comes to the road it is important to note that we share
these passageways we take everyday with people who have family and
loved ones so please take precautions and drive as safely as
possible.
