Self-Reflection

The importance of learning how to drive is the clarity of how other drivers don’t get the proper education of safety on the road. Many people from different background gets their driving education from different places. In the States, we must educate drivers how deaths caused by driving are preventable when everyone is around being cautions. This is a hard task to accomplish but we must learn how to give signals always, allow other drivers to pass by and be respectful to other citizens and cops.

The number of deaths can be reduced by a self-monitored speed limit. For example, Uber drivers must drive in speed limits because the app monitors the speed which can be reported. This step can also be implemented in drivers who have a record of DUI or speeding tickets.

I’ve had many friends who drove irresponsibly and I’ve learned to stay away or not get into their cars because of their driving skills. My friend drives so fast whenever she was sure that police were not around. Such behavior is very dangerous. She also drives fast through yellow lights. This type of situations made me realize that we need to learn and take responsibility for constructive criticism. When someone comments on how fast you drive, it’s probably because the driver drives fast.

I can be a better driver by not rushing. Driving calmly is the main factor I should consider. Music that calms the nerves but also keeps it more alert can be helpful to me. I can also allow other drivers to pass by because maybe they are in a rush. It can be frustrating when someone doesn’t give their signals but I am learning not to take it personally. Maybe their turn light doesn’t even work, who knows. But I am not allowing myself to take things personally because I cannot change other people’s behaviors but only my own.

For other drivers, I can be more patient to others and learn to sense other driver’s behavior based on how they are passing by through other drivers on the road. This can be seen on the highway. I can tell this by looking ahead on the road and notice a car passing through other cars fast and excessively. I usually start observing and keep my distance away from them.
