How to reduce the risk of Road death in America

To whomever is reading this, think about this real quick, is it more dangerous to be off fighting in a combat battle against another nation or driving on a U.S Highway? The answer will shock you but studies have shown that in America the number of casualties on highways every year is higher than the number of casualties of lives lost in the Iraq war and the War in Afghanistan combined with 34,000 people dying. Studies have shown that the number of Americans who have tended to drive in the span of two years is higher than the number of lives that were lost during the Vietnam war. It is important that Drivers ed should be taken seriously by drivers in order to reduce the risk of death, to self and others. It’s better to be educated about rules on the road, such as no texting while driving, no speeding, following the road signs, and also to know statistics about accidents and deaths in order to prevent more from happening. The steps I believe should be taken to reduce the number of deaths is to educate the younger Americans when they are learning the rules on the road to receive their license. I believe that in High schools drivers ed should be mandatory for students and even adults who have a high risk of causing an accident on the road. Yes I have had an experience in which a family friend was driving irresponsibly. When I was around eleven years young my family friend was texting while driving on the road and wasn’t really as much as focused on the road as you are supposed to be, fortunately no accident has occurred to me and to her on the present day. A step I can take to be a better driver is to put my phone away while driving and focus on the road, I can use hands free mode as well to answer phone calls while driving. I can also educate myself better on the rule of the roads in order to drive safely. One thing I can do in order to help others become a safer driver is see something say something method. If I notice them driving in a dangerous situation such as speeding, texting while driving, consuming drugs or alcohol that could impair their driving ability, I should quickly speak up against them to stop what they are doing and possibly switch spots with them letting me be the safe driver in order to prevent the risk of an accident from happening. I believe that with proper drivers ed the number of deaths on the road can decrease.
