Driving in Society

For many decades, driving has become a necessity to everything that we do in society such as traveling to work, out of town, the store, or even to go to school. Driving allows us to save more time getting a location rather than taking public transportation or walking. This is why the majority of the people across the world are drivers. However, the downfall with driving is that it leads to more car accidents and high demand in the production of cars. This will not only affect citizens, but also the economy because it will lead to an overconsumption of oil, which will add destruction and extermination to the plants. Overall, the deaths with driving cars is becoming more and more common without the extensive training on how to operate cars and developing solutions to diminish the chances of becoming a part of a potential car accident.

The best solution to prevent further car accidents in the future is for people to actually focus on their driving education. The significance of obtaining a drivers ed is that it helps people, mainly teenagers become better at operating a vehicle and understanding the road safety before physically driving the car. Since teenagers are intimidating about driving, without the proper driving education emotions will take over rather than using their learned skills. Drivers ed will help change people’s fear of driving on the road, which will lessen the chances of being involved in dangerous circumstances where the driver and pedestrians are at risk.

The steps that can be taken to reduce the number of deaths surrounding cars are making it a requirement for every beginner driver to attend driving school that way they can prepare themselves with practice instead of retrieving the driver’s without the proper training. Another step that can be taken to lower the death number is to have stricter laws on drinking and driving on people younger than 25 by creating higher fines and adding more time on license probation. If there is a third strike, they will face up to a year in jail, a 1,000 dollar fine, and a suspended license for a year and a half. This will give them the time of not wanting to commit this act again.

From personal experience, I have witnessed family and friends driving reckless because of the fact that they were rushing to get to their destination faster or they were on their cellphones. There were some moments where these actions almost resorted into car accidents, but they were prevented because I said something like constantly reminding them to pay attention to the road. Presently, I do not ride in the car with them as often because I do not want to put my life in the hands of an irresponsible driver.

Due to the fact that I am not a driver at the moment, I will develop into a safe driver by attending driving school until I feel prepared enough to drive by myself. Ways to help other drivers is to make sure that they focus on the road rather than their cellular device. Additionally, I will make sure that they do not drive under the influence. With these few steps, there will be less accidents and more saved lives.
