Drivers ed

Being
a safe driver means being alert, always driving to the conditions of
the road. I believe that drivers ed is important because safety
is extremely important and should be taken very seriously by all.
Safe driving should be taken seriously whether you are experienced or
a new driver. Safe driving can not only save you, but it will also
save others.

Factors
such as damaged roads and poor weather can contribute to the risk of
driving. However, doing things like driving the speed limit, wearing
your seatbelt, using your signal lights and avoiding drugs and
alcohol, can lower the number of deaths related to driving. Another
step we can take to reduce the number of deaths is to avoid using
phones while driving. Too many people get caught up texting and/or
talking on their phones and not paying attention to the road. I
believe that If everyone were to abide by laws of roads and had
proper drivers ed, car accidents death would decrease
tremendously.

I
have never been in a car accident, but I have seen some of my family
members driving irresponsibly. My mom had a bad habit of texting and
being on the phone while driving and one time it almost caused our
lives. One day we were driving home from my basketball practice on
the highway and my mom decided to check her phone and text. While she
was checking her phone, she did not realize that a car had stomped on
their brakes in front of us to avoid another car. This caused me to
shout at my mom to stop and luckily, she was able to stop in time
before hitting the car. This situation made me, and my mom realize
how dangerous texting and driving is. We learned that even checking
your phone for the slightest second can cause an accident.

Steps
that I can take to be a better and more effective safe driver is to
drive the speed limit, stay off my phone, and be aware of your
surroundings. I can help others by teaching them the importance of
safe driving. I will teach them how to be safe and how to abide by
the rules. We all should take driving very seriously because if not,
it can cost many lives.
