Driving an important step in most people’s lives, that they learn over time how to navigate through the roads. Even though this step is important, it is also important to understand that when a person first learns how to drive, this can be beneficial but also very dangerous. Driving can ultimately become dangerous when the driver of a vehicle puts other people’s lives at risk, due to reckless driving. This is why it is important to have each person that is beginning driving or even wanting to brush up on their driving skills to give them driving education. When someone is better educated regarding the rules of the road, and how to drive not reckless when there are other cars on the road, this can prevent less deaths. People who become more educated regarding driving ultimately will take the steps toward becoming more precautious and aware of the other drivers on the road, thus, leading to less accidents due to reckless or distracted driving.

Many people are distracted while driving. Whether it be distraction from a mobile device, drunk driving, to becoming distracted by the other passengers within a vehicle, this can lead to crashing and ultimately numerous deaths if a driver is not careful. Some steps that may be taken regarding reducing the number of deaths related to driving would begin with education. When someone is better educated regarding the rules of the road, they can take the steps toward attempting to drive careful and prevent deaths from occurring. Other steps that can be taken would be for drivers to stop becoming so distracted while driving, and understanding that by operation of their motor vehicle, they could potentially take a person’s life. Becoming less distracted can stem from things like turning a person’s phone on to do not disturb and making sure to be fully paying attention to the road ahead of them, as well as the other cares around them. Personally, I have never been in a car accident, but I have witnessed my friends driving recklessly. They would text, talk, and play around on their phone, speed, and get close to other cars near them which put not only us in danger, but the other people on the road in danger as well. I have explained to my friends that when they are driving, they should not only worry about their own safety or life but worry about the other people around them as well because once they get behind the wheel, they are responsible for multiple people’s safety as well as their own.

Personally, I do everything I can to be a safer driver. This includes putting my phone out of reach when I am driving so I can fully pay attention to the road. As well, I make sure that while driving, I am checking all three of my mirrors in my truck. When I take the steps to be safe on the road, everyone benefits.
