Essay On Driving Safety

Driving
education can help reduce the death rate amongst drivers by making
them more aware about what is acceptable and what is not acceptable
when driving, such as texting and driving. Texting and driving is not
at all acceptable to do and it leads to many car accidents and
fatalities throughout the year. Drinking and driving is also
something that is not acceptable behavior. Those who have had even
one DUI should have to have a Breathalyzer on their car, just to help
make them more aware and to reinforce that driving and driving is not
at all okay and can put the lives of others, as well as the driver’s,
at risk by doing so.

What
can be done to help reduce the death rate amongst drivers is to help
better promote driving safety. Put the emphasis even more on not
drinking before you drive and to put your phone in the back seat of
your car when you drive. Little things like this can help to make a
huge impact. I also fell that every 10 years drivers should have to
take a refresher course. This will allow for them to learn any new
regulations that might have came out and to also help refresh their
minds on any older ones that are still being used.

I
personally have experienced being in a small fender bender with my
mom and my friend. I was very scary. The idea of having your car hit
and thinking it could have been very bad is frightening. I remember
going into a full blown panic attack and almost passing out because I
was so scared. Luckily, nobody was injured and it was just a few
scratches, but it was something that made me more aware of my
surroundings once I started to drive at 16.

For
me personally, I throw my phone in the back of my car when I drive,
so that way I am less likely to look at it. I always make sure my
passengers have a seatbelt on. If they don’t, I tell them I’m not
going to drive until they have one on. Lastly, if I have something to
drink with my family, I will not drive (even if I feel okay) until
the next day to avoid any what-if’s and mishaps from occurring.
