Drivers ed
When
you are in the driver’s seat, it feels different from the passage
seat. I have been so excited I could not wait to go behind the wheel.
Now, I am finally here my heat is beating fast, my hand shaking just
a little. Pull yourself together I said it is finally your time.
However, wait do you remember everything from that online class? Did
I check the mirrors, are my hand supposed to be at 10 and 2 or 10 and
3, is my seat upright, am I to far down in my seat? There are so many
things that a new driver have to lean before going on the road. It is
very important to have drivers ed; this can help to reduce the
numbers of death on the road. Many different step can be taken to
reduce the number of driving related death.
My
mother tells me that when she was in high school they had a driver
education class that was a requirement. Where I live there are only
two high schools that offers a drivers ed. I find this a
bit sad because an actual class offers a more hands on experience and
I feel you lean more. Drivers ed is important because one need
to know what they can and cannot do on the road. Drivers ed it
shown to be reduce car crashes and traffic violations. This is
because drivers ed provide the skills, and knowledge to be
safe on the road. Hence, reducing the number of deaths. This is just
one-step to in reducing the numbers.
Here
are a few step that can be taken in reducing the number of driving
deaths. Distraction occurs so easily the best thing to do when
driving is to avoid them. Do not; I repeat do not text and drive
better yet do not look at your phone when you are driving. Whatever
it is can wait. Do not drive when you are tired. You do not know how
many accidents has occur because someone fell asleep at the wheel.
Follow all the laws of the road. The yellow light means to slow down
not speed up. This can cause a car accident in a split second taking
someone life. Thank goodness, I have never been in any car accident.
My father was in one a few years ago. He was just getting off work
and someone ran the red light t-boned his car. His head hit the
window and he blacked out for a few minutes mile concussion they
said. However, it could have been worst and his car was total.
In
conclusion, we learn something new every day. No one is a perfect
driver but we can get better daily. For me I will try my best to
avoid distraction, keep a safe distant, and follow the rules of the
road at all times.
