Why being a safe and responsibility is important

33,242 people have been killed in a motor accident in the year 2019 23% of those deaths were people using their phone 28% resulted in the use of alcohol. all these death ranges from young infant to adults and teens learning how to just drive the vehicle isn’t enough, one death resulting from a car accident is just one to many, driving education should be the utmost importance in teaching teens who are just driving and keep teaching after they have their license there is always room for improvement, In the rest of this essay I will state some opinions along with some facts on the importance of being a safe and responsible driver.

Learning to be safe and responsibly while driving isn’t a thought in people’s minds anymore when cars were first being invented they were feared and most accidents result in not knowing how to drive overtime safety features being more prominent allowing the car to drives for us, we the drivers are dependent on these safety features saving us instead of us knowing how to be able to save us, being educated and knowing how to operate our vehicles should be common knowledge.

Growing up I have seen friends and family drive under the influence of drugs and alcohol and it never ended up with them going home safely they have either been in an accident or was pulled over by the police and each time they regret being so careless and irresponsible, these incidents have impacted my thoughts and actions on how I handle myself while driving and wanting to learn more defensive tactics for it comes to the road and believes that it should be taught to driver ed students teens and adults, considering that the new drivers will have to learn on how to defend themselves from drivers who are impaired or become aggressive, having the new driver being able to recognize these behaviors and more importantly being able to respond to these actions responsibly should save their lives being proactive instead of being reactive.

This thought does apply to adults too we can never stop learning new ways how to be safe on the road with cars coming out with new safety features we cannot forget how to safely maneuver our vehicle to avoid dangers allowing the cars feature to take over can not always and should not be expected those features to save us when any dangers come up. Having the knowledge as I have stated in the paragraph above should be prominent in both teens and adults, being active in speaking on the ways we can be even safer while driving can save a future life.

For kids today it’s not just telling them not to drink and drive time has change where other people stopped caring so we have to teach our new drivers how to be defensive and learn to spot an impaired driver and how to avoid being in an accident, along with the ideas on how to operate the vehicle when the weather is not ideal and the driver can confidently correct the vehicle is hydroplaning or ice road conditions and being prepared for the situation of an animal crossing unexpectedly,

These tactics on how to be safe while driving learns the vehicle maneuvers and having the mindset that every time you are behind the wheel you should be focused and alert for any dangers that may come your way and be ready and able to react to that danger, we should as a society should not sit by and allow our friends and family killed from preventable deaths by just having to take time to learn on being safe, we put more emphasis on safety when it comes to everything else in today’s life driving and knowing how to be safe should just be on the top of that list for both kids and adults alike.

To sum up, everything that has been stated.

Being a responsible and safe driver should be taught to prevent accidents and have the driver being confident that if a situation comes up from drunk drivers to animals unexpectedly coming across the road that they will be able to safely and effectively avoid the danger and not have to rely on the safety features of the vehicle. There are a million different dangers on the road. We cannot predict all of them but we can train to learn to see it and react to it before it results in a deadly statistic.
