The importance of drivers ed

Everyone in today’s world drives or always relies on transport to go from place to place right? While we do rely heavily on it, it is also key to know how to be safe on the road. A lot of drivers today don’t know the basics when it comes down to drivers ed, leading to accidents, car crashes, and injuries. If people were to learn about drivers ed, people would notice there would be a decrease in the number of deaths in driving. The reason behind that is because people would know what to do and not to do while on the road. For example it could be from when to switch lanes at the right time, to look left and right when crossing an intersection, or even looking out before leaving your driveway.

I feel like the steps needed to be taken to reduce the number of deaths related to driving would have to first start with first getting familiar with drivers ed. Getting used to doing it on the daily, knowing the basics when it comes to drivers safety. That would have to be from maybe taking classes, learning exactly is drivers ed. Though these are pretty basic and simple steps needed they are always overshadowed and seen as not that important, but in reality I feel like these are ones everyone should really aim to remember because even though they are basic they are indeed very helpful.

For me unfortunately I have been in a car crash and that was when I was just starting to drive. The reason was for me not paying good attention to my surroundings. After that accident I realized I need to take the steps needed to avoid this from happening again. I learned from my mistake and grew to stop it from coming true again. For me the steps I feel like I need to take in order to become a better driver and be more safer would have to be getting used to knowing drivers ed like the back of my hand. Getting used to always putting safety on top of everything, never feeling like I have to rush things especially when it comes to driving. I feel like the main reason a lot of accidents happen is for people having to rush from point a to point b and because of that they forget about safety and are fully focused on getting to the destination they are more likely to get into an accident.

Though sometimes I know accidents can’t be avoided sometimes it’s out of our hands to do what we do or can’t protect. We should at least try to take the responsible steps in knowing how to avoid that from happening or what steps to take from making sure we are safe. Not everyone will be able to of course learn every single thing there is about drivers ed, but if we can all at least learn the basics I feel like we can all avoid accidents and deaths more when it comes to driving. Driving shouldn’t be seen as such a really scary thing, it should be fun, it should be seens as a really needed thing since we all want to get from area to area, but if we don’t take the time to be safe we put others at risk too. What I plan to do to better help people in learning more about drivers ed and being safe on the road is getting them into learning the basics, quizzing them making sure they at least know the basics of driving. I may not be the most qualified to teach about drivers ed, but I feel like we should all put in our part to help avoid any more deaths from driving. Even if it’s something small like teaching someone how to look over their blind spot, that could be really life changing for someone who may not know it could be advice that could have changed their life.

In the end I hope that this essay was able to at least give awareness to everyone about how important drivers ed and driving safety is. Like without it we would all be scared to even drive. Driving in the end should be something we all should be able to do but also be safe because we never know if we underestimate driving safety we may not know what to do in a serious situation. We all want to be able to drive from point a to point b safely so let’s all put in our part to drive safely and make people more aware of it.
