Why is Driving Education Important

What is driver education is a common question that is posed. Driver education is a structured course or program that gets novice drivers ready for their learners permit or license. For new drivers to learn and comprehend how a car operates as well as the traffic laws, drivers education is crucial. Without proper training for drivers, there would be a very high percentage of fatal accidents. Driving involves several responsibilities, including understanding the laws of the road and what is and is not permitted. Through driver’s education, people are made aware of mistakes that have resulted in fatal accidents and the necessary safeguards to take when attempting. Driving is not a game and should be handled seriously because one mistake can result in the deaths of numerous people in a matter of seconds.

There are some aspects of driving that I still need to learn as a new driver. A few examples include the fact that sometimes it may seem cool to not use a seatbelt, but it will be frightening to witness if it results in someone’s death. Additionally, even though it is against the law to drive while intoxicated whether you are under 21 or older, many still do it. Because of this, everyone on the road is at danger of suffering major injuries even though it is one of the main regulations in drivers education. Another step is to never assume that other drivers will behave in a way that you can’t control. Even when the light is green, you should always double check to ensure that it’s safe to drive. And lastly, stay focused when driving. Even though making a phone call or eating takeout while driving may not seem like a huge concern to many, these activities result in more accidents than most people would anticipate since the driver was preoccupied with their phone or food.

As someone who has come dangerously close to a fatal accident, I consider drivers education to be crucial. Numerous items raised warning signs before the incident took place. Being a little child who gets hurt by a drunk driver and having no control over the situation is one of the scariest things that may happen. Because I didn’t want them to get upset or refuse me, I didn’t know how to speak out when I became a victim and tell them to take me somewhere else. When I was with a family member at an intersection and we were making a left turn onto a busy street, my family member didn’t turn wide enough and ended up on the wrong side of the road. At that point, all I could see in front of me were the headlights of an 18-wheeler. I had no idea how badly drunk driving could affect a person’s ability to drive. My family member had not seen that we were traveling on the wrong side of the road, so the passenger had to take the wheel and cross the median to bring us back to the correct side. I took a while to understand what had happened and what might have happened to me because none of the seatbelts in the backseat were functional. Since I wouldn’t be typing this essay if it weren’t for that passenger and God, I give them praise on a daily basis. That encounter taught me to stand up for myself  and to watch out for drunk drivers before getting in a car with them. And finally, it taught me that it is not safe for me or anybody else to ride in a car that does not have functional seat belts.

After all of this, there are a lot of things I think I can do to drive safely and to teach others to drive safely. A few of the things I think can be beneficial are requiring passengers and drivers to always wear seat belts. Observing the three to four second rule since it’s simple to end up within a few seconds of someone’s back bumper and not even be aware of how quickly it could cause an accident. Secondly, keep your speed down and stick to the speed limit because if you’re in a big truck, traveling quicker will inevitably make you move harder and slower. Finally, always be aware of your surroundings and keep a close eye on them since you never know when a person or a cyclist can emerge from hiding or whether a vehicle might be in your blind area. Always check your mirrors, move your eyes around the road, and keep an eye out for anything that could endanger you or other motorists.
