The importance behind drivers education
Many people lose their lives to car accidents. They may have been the driver in the vehicle that caused the accident or maybe they were just the passengers going along with the other person for the ride. Vehicles can be really dangerous, whether you are behind the wheel or on the passenger side. When driving a car, a truck, a van, anytype of vehicle, everyone that gets on the drivers side should know proper drivers education. When being taught drivers education many topics that involve driving will be covered, such as how to drive safely, different driving techniques, parking, emergency precautions, and so much more. Learning the content that is taught in drivers education is the first step that can contribute to lowering deaths caused by car collisions because it’ll give people knowledge on driving and the roads itself. Having the proper drivers education knowledge is very important. I believe that all people should have to renew their license as they get older in age to reduce the risk of accidents and the lack of knowledge towards driving. Another step that I believe should be made toward lowering the amount of car accident deaths is not allowing right hand turns on red lights, I say that this is a beneficial step towards lowering the rate of car accident deaths because some areas that allow right turns on red lights have blind spots, so it becomes difficult for the driver that is going to attempt the turn to see if there is a car that may be speeding across the street. Another reason I think that right hand turns on red lights should be removed from the streets is because sometimes you may overestimate the time that you have to pull out before the other car comes out and this may result in a collision also. After doing some research on what is the number one cause of a car accident, I got the results that distracted driving is the number one reason for car accidents. So what can we do to reduce distractions while driving? I think that avoiding all distractions while driving may be very difficult, but I believe that it is very possible to avoid a lot of them. For instance when driving, turn your notifications off on your phone to avoid checking it when you hear a buzz. When driving try to not have so many people with you but if you have to be with everyone ask them to lower their voices while you are driving. One last thing that I am going to mention that can help reduce distracted driving is not eating while driving although you may think that you are an expert at simultaneously eating while driving it only takes 1 second to look down and be at risk of having an accident. I have not personally been in a car accident but I have driven by some that have made me tug on my seat belt a bit tighter and sit up closer to the wheel. I have been in cars and witnessed situations where someone may have been on their phones not paying any attention to the road and it may have caused them to swerve. I’ve also been in positions where I am the one driving and there are others in the car making an obnoxious amount of noise that causes me to pay more attention to the noise in the car than me just paying attention to the road which should be my main goal when driving. A step that I can take that can help me be a better and safer driver on the road is paying closer attention to the cars around me and making sure that the distractions around me are at a minimum. I can drive every day as if I am still practicing driving because what I’ve often picked up on is that people who have been driving for a long time, they often feel as if they know exactly what they are doing and dont pay as much attention to the road and that causes them to be at risk to have a car accident. Sometimes I have very full days that involves me having to go to gym, school, study, and work and that has me up from 6am – 10pm. Having the hectic schedule of being up from 6am- 10pm I am usually exhausted and the drive home is very sluggish, I can try to have everything that I need to be done at the end of the night, completed so that I can get to sleep as soon as possible when I get off and have enough sleep so that I am not so sleepy when it’s time to go home at night the next day. Overall having the proper knowledge of driver’s education is very important when planning to get behind the wheel, when in any vehicle always buckle up!
