Safe Driver’s Guide

To reach one’s destination either in the passenger seat or dictatorial of the wheel, the main goal is to arrive unscathed. My involvement in a car accident left me utterly distraught. I would in no circumstance wish this on my worst enemy to experience a car collision or come up against death due to a head on collision. You have the mentality that everyone is taking every pre-precaution to keep not only themselves safe, but others as well. The three main steps on reducing the number in regards to death related to driving; following designated signs , avoiding distractions and being cognizant.

First and foremost, the designated signs are meant to be followed. In order to gain the knowledge of each individual sign one must go to drivers education. Driving in general is unaccustomed, it is a privilege. The key in this instance is education. The profit for the latest drivers being enrolled and passing the driving education class would be developing the skill of distinguishing the rules of the road and much more that is involved with this class of liability. Living in ignorance is never an option. Incorporating this dexterity will give one the ability to maintain efficacy and welfare. The plethora of designated signs available will give a driver the clarity needed for acquisition once easily identified and understood. Consequently, gaining knowledge through driver education with respect to following designated signs will lessen the likelihood of putting human beings’ lives on the line due to precipitous driving.

Secondly, avoiding distractions reduces the number of deaths related to driving by allowing yourself to set forth comprehensive focus. According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), five distracted seconds at a speed of fifty five miles per hour (55 mph) is the same as driving an entire length of a football field with your eyes shut. Take it as read, the split second could be a fatalistic moment, in which can take place of departure of life or minor fender bender. One must avoid; texting and driving, talking on the phone, using control systems, road rage, and/or grabbing a bite to eat. As claimed by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) recommends drivers put their hands at the 9 and 3 o’clock positions. At all times up until the car is in park and in a safe location one’s hands should be on the steering wheel in the appropriate position. Being conscious of where your hands are limits the opportunity of taking action to venture into various tasks.Your life and others is most important, at the end of the day there will be an opportunity at a later time to complete the tasks that you believe could be handled in the vehicle. Those insignificant tasks should never take hold first priority over humanity as a whole. If one were to choose to make a selfish choice that grand it would not be taken lightly. If a distracted driver lost control of the vehicle and crashed into an innocent driver and/or passenger they could limit their great opportunities; a mother may never return their child or husband/wife. No one person’s mistakes should alter another’s life, everyone should respect one another. In general, limiting the likelihood of a collision happening can be reduced by a driver not being distracted.

Ultimately, one’s self awareness sets the tone of a successful driver. To conduct yourself with self awareness, one must be aware; before, during and after the key turns the vehicle’s ignition on. One can only control themselves first. Developing this skill will first start by checking if the vehicle is safe to drive. From the wheels, lights, mirrors, seatbelt and dashboard lights. Next and most importantly, realizing your disposition. Having the understanding that you control the vehicle, and that you reduce fifty percent of the likelihood of a collision. One should never drive off with being in a negative state of mind, which coincides with making a compos mentis determination. Overall, being able to arrive from point a to point b will be possible if one is self aware.

All in all, the guide to successful driving leads to lessening the numbers of deaths related to driving by avoiding distractions, self-awareness, and following designated signs. I strongly believe that accidents are preventable. Mortality itself is scary, but knowing I can reduce the risk settles me. Following the given information sets precaution and standard. In conclusion; being mindful, avoiding distractions, and following designated signs will lead to safer roads and reduce the number of deaths interconnected with driving.
