Do’s and Don’ts of Driving.

The importance of driver education is to help in teaching our future drivers the dos and don’ts of the road so when they finally get their license, they won’t make any bad mistakes while under the control of a motor vehicle. While you go through driver education you are consciously unconsciously learning how to be the safest driver you can be while on the road. You get the chance to go through practice test on what you should do if you hydroplane, break down, or loss control of the braking system. Having these skills will save you and others from harm and it also puts you ahead of the game with all the drivers who are on the road with no prior experience or knowledge of what to do when they come into a bad situation that can become deadly. So overall having driver education in our schools will absolutely save so many lives.

Steps that can be taken to prevent deaths related to driving is to first make all schools teach drivers ed as a required coarse before you graduate that institution. Another thing that can be done is more extensive road test that can actually expose how that driver is on the road and use that data to see if they need a driver’s license or not. In addition to that everyone who is wanting to get a license should go through a simulator that puts you in really bad scenarios that can lead to potential death and then they can see how they handle the situation under high amounts of stress. This can be added to all of the other test that are already in place.

I’m so glad I was asked this question. Throughout my 19 years of life, I have experienced a few experiences with driving. One of my earliest incidents was a time when one of my family members picked me up from school and they have been drinking and they were driving so fast, and it was because they were under the influence of alcohol. Another experience was when I was riding with someone, and they were driving with blown headlights at night, and this caused the other drivers to have a hard time seeing us on the road which could have cased and accident. Lastly was a time me and my mother was driving, and we were sitting at a light and all of a sudden, this man ran into the back of us, and we were injured from it. He happened to be texting and driving. That is why it is so important to not text and drive because it can cause arguments.

Something that can make me a better driver is to be more cautious of my blind spot because sometimes I don’t check them and there will be someone there and I have to stop myself from changing lanes because I would have caused an accident. Something else I can improve on is making sure I don’t go over the speed limit unconsciously because there are times when I am driving, and I will look at my speedometer and be like OMG I am over and have to come back to the legal speed. I can also get a tracker device from my insurance company that will record my driving habits and let me know what I do well and what I don’t do well so I can work on improving those bad habits. What can I do to help others become better drivers, well I would start off with simply informing them about programs they can take online to help them become better drivers. Also, I would tell them about a driver class they could take so they can be more knowledgeable about how to correct negative driving situations that can occur while driving. Along with that I would have conversations with them on how to be better drivers and let them now all the information I have and use when I drive and tell them how that works for me because everyone has their own way of being safe but there are still key rules you must follow if you want to be the best driver you can be when you are out there on the road with other lives. I think it is really important that we teach those who do not know how to handle the roads that well or are new to driving what to do and what not to do so they can at least have to knowledge to apply to driving because it can be a very enjoyable experience, or it can be a deadly one.
