Safe Driving
There are multiple accidents on the road as a result of careless drivers. The biggest cause of death are car accidents. People die from accidents on the road more than any other scenario. It is extremely important that we receive proper education on this topic from a young age to reduce the numbers of deaths. People who do not take drivers education do not get educated and become a careless driver. Drivers education teaches the drivers judgment, common sense, and defensive driving. It shows the dos and don’ts a driver must follow. With this knowledge we know exactly how we have to behave out on the street to be sure nobody is getting hurt. Knowing the correct laws and ways to drive we can prevent accidents worldwide. It teaches us how to take control of our vehicle under any circumstance. This gives us the advantage of being able to drive through all sorts of weather and ensure safety on the road. There are some steps you must also take to reduce the number of deaths related to driving. These steps should be taught to everyone at a young age as well so that we can all make sure we follow these steps and stay safe on the road everywhere we go. We cannot under any circumstance drink and drive. We can not drive while drunk, high, or on any substance. We must be sober. This does not mean you can’t drink at a party, but you have to make sure you are consciously active and feel completely normal. Monitoring your drinking makes sure you are safe to drive. This ensures safety for the driver, anyone that may be in the car ride, and other individuals on the road. Make sure you are never on your phone while driving. You cannot text while drive or watch anything on your phone while driving. This creates a distraction since you are constantly taking your eyes off the road to look at your phone screen, thus creating a car accident that could potentially be your fault. Even if you take little glances at your screen and mostly have your eye on the road, a lot can happen in one second. One glace nobody is in your way and the next you are on top of the car that went in front of you. Always have your seatbelt on. If someone crashes into you, your seatbelt ensures that you are safe. It makes sure you don’t get injured. You might still get injured, but definitely not as bad as an injury you would have gotten without a seatbelt. I was once in a horrific accident. Me, my sister, and I were in the car. I was 8 years old. My sister was 2 years old. My mom was driving to our church summer camp. Suddenly a 21-year-old guy crashes into us with extreme force. He crashes into the back of our car. It appeared to me that he was distracted because he came onto us with great speed. It was so horrible that his impact sent our car across four lanes on the road. Since it sent our car across it made us crash against the edge of the cement barrier of the street. This took place on a highway above a lake in Miami. Since this was a bridge type of highway there was a cement barrier around the sides of the road for safety. This was the barrier our crash crashes into. Our bumper fell of in the middle of the road along with the tail lights and other pieces of the car. We were all scared to death. I was terrified and shocked. Thankfully nobody got hurt and we were able to get out of the car safely. We have our seatbelts to thank for that. If we would nott have had our seatbelts we could have gotten seriously hurt. Personally, if I were in a car I would make sure the driver is following the guidelines. If they get on their phone I will tell them to keep their eyes on the road. If they are drunk or high I will make sure someone else drives or I will call an uber. Getting into a car my first instinct is to secure my seatbelt. I always make sure that everyone else inside the car along with me has their seatbelt on and secured. I am also aware of the road when the driver is driving as a simple precaution that there is a reckless driver. You never know what could happen on the road. I always pay attention just in case I see or notice something the driver does not.
