Lets be careful!
My grandfather passed away before I was born due to a crash accident. This did not only affect his present family but also his future family as well. Not being able to grow up with a grandfather is upsetting at times when it comes to needing that extra bit of love. My grandfather crashed in a tree , still to this day we do not know how he crashed. With him not having his seat belt on (which is the first step when getting into a vehicle) it caused him to hit his head which caused internal bleeding. When I talk about my grandfather’s accident many assume that it was on a busy street or during rush hour , when in reality it was on an early morning just a couple streets away from his home. Accidents happen whenever, it doesn’t have time or day labeled to distrut. The importance of driver education is to gain the appropriate education about driving a vehicle. The benefit of this is to get the information and do it the correct way which helps prevent incidents that can lead to death. You should follow all of the rules when entering a vehicle, rather it’s comfortable or not. My grandfather wasn’t comfortable with wearing a seatbelt and that is what caused his death, something so simple could have saved his life. Another important factor of driver’s education is to make sure that everyone behind the wheel has their driver license or permanent. Teens that begin driving at 15 ½ should be accompanied by a licensed driver that is over the age of 21. This is important to follow because many teenagers are reckless drivers just like adults. The adults are there to accompany them to help them make right choices and decisions. Young adults like to enjoy their time by drinking. It is a proven fact and is the number cause of crashes. A step that can be taken is planning out your night before going out. This looks like making sure you have a responsible person who isn’t going to partake in any drinks and is assigned to drive ,this falls under driving cautiously. Taking this step shows your maturity level and reflects on how you carry yourself. This can also be an encouragement to others to do the same. Another step is to inspect your car, keeping up with your car and getting regular inspections are a big part of preventing crashes. Being responsible doesn’t only involve the car itself it can also look like restricting your cellphones while in the car. There are reported four hundred deaths from texting and driving in the United States every year. Mental health is a subject that has a lot of attention nowadays. Checking the way that you feel before getting into a car is a personal step that you should take. If you are not mentally stable you should not be in the driver seat of a vehicle, the outcome could be you hurting yourself and another individual. As for my experiences with car accidents I have been involved in one with my grandmother. As stated above I lost my grandfather to a car crash so you imagine how traumatic this was for me and her. I wasn’t the driver but was in the back seat at the time and did not have my seat belt on! I remember seeing a car come from the left side and hit the car. My body jerked and moved forward hitting my head on the back of the seat in front of me. The cause of the accident was the other driver’s lack of focus. The driver was a woman and she had a phone in her hand, falling to realize we had the right away. That incident has registered in my brain as a learning lesson and has taught me to follow the rules when I drive in my own vehicle and the passengers that are in it as well! In my car it dings when the car is moving and seat belts are off, this is something that I love because it gives an extra bit of safety to the car. Steps that I can take to be a better and safer driver is being aware of my surroundings by staying alert when driving, for example the traffic flow. Another thing I would say is to rotate drivers to avoid highway hypnosis which can lead to collisions. A piece of advice that I would say to other drivers as they face the road is to be comfortable , if you do not feel comfortable driving, get out of the driver’s seat and let someone who does feel comfortable drive!
