A Midsummer Night’s Drive
Drivers ed reduces the number of deaths because of its
ability to prevent bad driving habits and foster better ones. As a
former student of an accredited Drivers ed program, I can
personally say that my experience learning about the in’s and out’s
of safe driving has substantially aided me in my day to day driving
experience to remain safe and active on the road.

What
steps can be taken to reduce the number of deaths related to
driving?
To reduce the number of deaths related to driving, I believe
requiring students to take a mandatory drivers ed class (online OR
in person) will solve this problem. Albeit problematic for some
students, the exposure to educational drivers ed material will at
least help the students become aware of what is right and wrong while
driving on the open road.

Have
you ever had an experience of being in car accident or have seen
your friends or family members driving irresponsibly?
A group of my peers (unassociated) at a high school football game
decided to perform several donuts in the parking lot and zoom off
into the distance. Only afterwards I knew something went wrong when a
loud crash and the sound of crunching metal followed swiftly by
ambulance sirens and flashing red/white lights had I known they had
gotten into a car crash.

What
steps can you take to be a better and safer driver as well as help
others become safer on the road?
Become aware and be safe; those are the steps I can take to be a
better driver.
