At
Any Given Moment

At
any given moment a life could end due to a road accident. Driving is
more than likely one of the scariest things we have to do in life.
Like life, we are in school to be educated to eventually build a
future. Being educated in driving will play a role in the future,
because it is important and it can in fact kill many people,
including you. Becoming educated will save our lives, believing in
the facts will instill awareness in us. Consider other lives for the
ones that do not consider yours to be a priority clearly by the way
they choose to drive unsafely.

There
are plenty of different ways you can prepare for tragedies but there
is nothing like experience. I have taken the drivers ed course and
been educated about driving from beginning to end, but when I
experienced my first accident it completely rearranged the way I
drive and changed my outlook. It made me more cautious and aware. We
need a step to create the experience without the actual incident and
that is talking to and being taught by ones who have taken part in
the life changing event of a road accident. Let the students taking
the course feel what those who have been through it felt during the
moment when your life flashes before your eyes. I guarantee it will
provide awareness as well as the caution that is needed in the ones
on the road, to be safe.

Because
of my experience of being the driver who was hit by someone making an
illegal left turn right into me and totaling my brand new car, I am a
different person. Thankfully, I exited the car with not one injury
but it could have gone a different and a way more devastating route.
Before the accident, I was not always one to abide by the speed limit
as well as the many people around me. But now, because I care more
about my safety and the ones I love as well as the people I do not
know, I share my experience with the open mind that not everyone will
understand until they go through it. When I speak on the tragedy I
hope to touch hearts in a way that they will be more careful and
knowledgeable about the crazy world of driving. Not everyone takes it
seriously, I did not. I am glad that my view of driving has changed
because I would never want the feeling of being responsible for
hurting someone or their family. That should be the thought that
everyone has before starting the engine. At any given moment a life
could end due to a road accident.
