Every
year 3,287 deaths are caused by car crashes. More importantly half of
them are caused by the younger age group of fifteen through
forty-four year olds. They are also the leading cause of deaths for
age groups fifteen through 29. How can we decrease these numbers? How
can we change driving and drivers ed overall?
If
everyone followed even the simple things like not drinking and
driving, following speed limits, using a seat belt, and child
restraints. The numbers would decrease exponentially. If we increased
driving courses and encouraged them at high schools we could use that
to encourage students to take it. If we start teaching kids and young
adults young and we enforce these laws better we could have less
accidents. More importantly less deaths caused by automobiles.
Although, you might see most issues in young adults it’s not only
their fault. It all starts in the parents not taking the safety
precautions. Then it carries about generation after generation. If
parents would teach their kids the rules there would also be less
issues.
In
conclusion, I think that it’s all about who teaches the child and
how much they enforce the rules. You have to teach them the rules so
that they will fall into habit. Enforcing the rules and adding more
driving classes to encourage students. Starting by teaching young.
Even just a few improvements and some good influences could help make
a difference in the amount of accidents and deaths.
