Driver
education is a valuable part in receiving a driver’s license at the
age of 16. The program to ensure drivers are well informed about the
road is called Drivers Ed. This can be taken online or in class, but
the most beneficial learning technique is taking it in class. The
reason being is according to the Association of Talent Development

“Experts have indicated that, among some of the most popular and
successful companies globally, the most preferred form of training
delivery is still face-to-face.” When new learners receive all the
information face-to-face they will be more likely to retain it, and
then take that information with them when behind a wheel. The
information drivers ed teaches its students is so important, because
it explains all driving rules and regulations in a 8 week span. Being
able to use this information in real life can lead to a decreased
number of deaths resulting in driving. Not only retaining the actual
information learned in drivers ed can prevent deaths, drivers can
practice to be defensive drivers. What this means is they are more
concerned for how others drive then themselves. By keeping a look out
for how others are driving prepares them to be ready for anything at
any time. The steps to ensure this is done is first put on a seat
belt, two adjust all mirrors, three go speed limit, four always be
vigilant of surroundings, and five be patient. I myself when driving
practice these methods as it is what my parents taught me and have
been very sufficient. I have not caused an accident but have been in
one. One day I was going to lunch with my friend and he was trying to
turn left on a busy road. There were no cars coming from the right
and only on from the left that was turning. So he began to turn and
there was a mustang coming full speed and t-boned us. Nobody was hurt
thank God, but this experience made me realize to be even more aware
and patient. I myself like to think I am a good driver, but there can
always be room for improvement. To ensure more safety out in the
community from me, I can not blast my music so loud which then in
return will allow me to focus even more on the road. Secondly, I can
always remember to be patient even when in a rush, because trying to
make a little gap while turning is nothing compared to causing an
accident. I can help others be a safer driver by always going the
speed limit and others following my lead in the lane. Lastly, I will
always think of my ethical values while driving. This means while I
am driving I will always keep in mind to be kind and courteous to
others. Allowing other fellow drivers to get in my lane, not to get
angry when people are riding me, and to be calm when others are in a
hurry. Not only would this insure for me to be an even more safer
driver, but help others as well.
