Importance of Educated Driving

Importance
of Educated Driving 2

It
is more dangerous to get into a car then get onto an airplane. This
is known to several people all over the world. The question comes up,
why is driving so dangerous? There are thousands of people that are
driving right now that do not know how dangers their own cars can be.
I believe that if these people were educated on how powerful and
destructive cars can be they would be much more careful. For example,
speeding is an issue in most places, especially in my area. I live in
a very small town based on population, but there are many back roads.
If the people that speed on these back roads were educated on the
dangers for both themselves and for others around them they may be
more careful. I think that most people speed because they are late,
but if there is an accident they will not reach their intended
location anyway.

There
are several steps that can be taken to inform drivers of the dangers
that could occur. First, it is important for young adults that are
just starting to drive to be educated. I believe that this is very
important because young people can be careless if they do not know
the consequences. Second, I think that older people sometimes get
overlooked. These are the people that young drivers look up to, they
are their role models. It is important to educate those that are
older and have more experience about how they can affect the
behaviors of those around them.

There
have been several car accidents in front of my house because it is
right around a curve in the road. I remember one very specifically. I
was around twelve years old when a truck flipped and went somewhat
down the bank. I was lucky that I did not see the accident happen,
but I did see what happened next. The truck was totaled and it did
not even look like a truck anymore, and the person was extremely
injured. The cause of the accident was speeding, and the driver was
lucky he survived. I believe that if he was aware of the consequences
before it happened he would not have been speeding.

I
can take some simple steps to be a safer and better driver. I can
make sure that my phone is far away from me so I am not tempted to be
distracted. I can also make sure that there is a large enough gap
between myself and the car in front of me. This could prevent an
accident if the car were to stop quickly. Lastly, I could have an
awareness of my surroundings. A way to do this is to keep my
headlights on so I could see better. All in all, I believe that safe
and educated driving is extremely important to reduce the number of
deaths due to car accidents.
