Arrived
Safely at Your Destination
Driving
can give people the ability to freely move around at a high speed.
However, learning safety while driving is what will ensure a person’s
safe arrival to their destination, along with the millions of people
sharing the same roads and highways. Practicing unsafe driving puts
many people at risk of getting into an accident and losing their
lives. The driver is not only risking their lives but the lives of
other drivers including passengers that consist of family, and
friends. Learning how to safely drive and encouraging others to also
learn will give people the ability to feel comfortable driving in the
road, and it will reduce serious issues such as millions of
driving-related deaths.
Making
sure that both the driver and passenger are wearing a seatbelt is
very important because if an accident were to occur, there is a
reduced risk of death to the driver and passenger. Speed limit signs,
stop signs, and many other signs are put there to protect drivers,
following the signs will help maintain the safety of drivers on both
the road and highway. The use of public transportation or getting a
ride from family or a friend while Drunk or buzzed instead of driving
will greatly help reduce the chances of an accident. The weather
plays a big role when driving, staying away from driving if possible
in harsh rainy or icy weather important in maintaining safety on the
road.
At
the age of seven, my friend was a victim of an accident due to unsafe
driving. While exiting a school bus, a car full of teenagers with
loud music playing nearly caused the death of a child looking forward
to getting home from school. The driver was distracted by both the
loud music and friends’ conversation, making them miss the red stop
sign from the bus. They were not focused on driving because of the
many distractions that were surrounding them. Having low music can
help drivers remain “at the moment” and fully paying attention to
their surroundings.
Understanding
that there are many people of different ages including infants that
are on the road looking forward to arriving at there homes, can help
enhance the importance of safe driving. Rules of driving are put
there for the driver, and passenger’s safety, therefore following
them will reduce death rates significantly. Avoiding distractions in
ways such as putting phone ringtones on silent, having low-level
music, and keeping conversations to a minimum while driving, will
help the driver remain focused on their driving. Addressing the
number of deaths due to unsafe driving will inform other drivers and
allow them to acknowledge the importance of safe driving. Applying
all the steps of safe driving as a driver will ensure that others
become safer on the road.
