Driving is a Responsibility
The
importance of drivers ed is making sure that people are taking
the time to look at the signs and read their rules of the road. They
need to know what those signs mean so they know how to take the
proper steps to follow those rules. If they know what the signs mean,
then maybe they will be more aware of how they should drive on the
road.
The
steps that can be taken to reduce the number of deaths as a result of
driving are, Step One is to read your rules of the road pamphlet that
you get when you first start. If you don’t have one, you can go to
the DMV and ask for one. Step Two is to not text and drive at the
same time. Just wait till you get to your destination to answer the
text or phone call. Step Three is to not drink and drive. Drinking
and driving at the same time is extremely dangerous, not only does it
cause harm to you, but it also causes harm to the people around you.
Like for instance it hurts the people in the car, the person or
people in the other car, your parents, etc. The final step is to pay
attention to your surroundings. Don’t be in such a rush to get to
your destination, it will still be there when you get there.
I
have never been in a car accident, but I have seen and been in the
car when one of my family members was driving irresponsibly. In that
experience I was a little worried about what was going to happen, and
I just kept thinking to myself if only they would slow down and just
wait for the traffic to move. From that experience I learned that if
you just slow down and wait, there wouldn’t be so many accidents on
the road.
The
steps I can take to be a better and safer driver are paying attention
to my surroundings, look at my phone once I get to my destination,
drive the speed limit and not drink while driving. I can help others
by giving them advice on how to stay focused whenever they are behind
the wheel so that they won’t get into car accidents as of ten as we
see our young people and even some of our elders get into on the
road. No matter what age, race, or gender everyone gets into an
accident and everyone is accountable for what they do when they are
behind that wheel because they are the ones who are controlling the
wheel.
No
one can tell you how to drive, people can give you either good advice
or bad advice and it’s your choice whether you choose to listen to
the correct advice. You are the one who is in control of that wheel
and what it does during your time behind the wheel and on the that
big open road.
