Mandate Drivers ed

Drivers
education should be mandated for all adolescents who aspire to drive.
Not only does it teach students how to drive safely, but it shows
them the facts regarding automobile accidents, drunk driving and
more. Drivers eds permits students to open up their knowledge
about the road and understand the facts from trained professionals as
opposed to hearing it from their friends or television.

Students
taking a drivers ed class are well informed in not only how to
drive, but why they should cautiously. The education that is laid
blatantly for the students to easily understand shows them a
narrative opposing their own. It shows students that it is not only
their lives that get harmed or destroyed due to any accident or
death, but the person on the opposing end of the incident as well.
Although drivers ed does reduce the number of deaths related
to driving, it should very well be mandated for all students and
adolescents to take a drivers ed course before obtaining their
license. If this would be permitted, there would be a very probable
reason to believe that there would be a drastic drop in reckless teen
driving and, therefore, a reduction in the number of deaths due to
automobiles. It would make young drivers more vigilant to the road
instead of their phones and understand that their reckless actions do
have consequences.

I
have been in a car accident, but it is not one that I recall. It
occurred when I was roughly a year old and I luckily sustained no
injuries. Although I know that my immediate family members do not
drive irresponsibly, I do know that they are very vigilant drivers.
My parents both have avoided many incidents which could have ended in
accidents, but my parents were carefully observant of the road and
know what must be done when people do drive irresponsibly on the
road. I personally learn much from them. They, my drivers ed
teacher and instructor all informed me how to drive well and to keep
me from looking at my phone. Although I do not use my social media, I
do help my friends in other means to drive safely, such as telling
them to get off their phones while driving and then explaining to
them why it is potentially harmful even though they may not have
known it. As a person, all I can do is inform people and tell them
not to do something when I see it, but as a society we can resolve
this issue by pushing for people to take drivers ed before
obtaining a license. Not only would it be the safest option, but also
the most informative. The only way to kill insensitivity and
ignorance in people can only be through informative education and
first hand experience; therefore, it is vital for all people to take
drivers ed classes, as people should be well informed of the
facts before doing something potentially dangerous.
