Significance of Drivers ed
2
I’m sure whoever is reading this is familiar with the saying, the
more the better. I feel like this saying is universal for a lot of
things in life, but in this case, it’s being an educated driver.
The more drivers ed you have the better and safer driver you
are. Being an educated driver is vital to your own life, but to
other’s lives as well. I would like to say that the amount of
drivers ed doesn’t matter just as long as you have more
knowledge than before. However, that would be quite naive of me.
Essentially, any education is applicable, but for the sake of others
on the road with you, there is a need to push more for obtaining a
solid drivers ed. We, as a society, wouldn’t be the safest
society if we were to drive. That’s why we need those seemingly
silly state driving apps to help us pass our permit test and have
those driving hours. Sometimes, we even have our wiser experienced
parental figure in the passenger’s seat to proliferate their years
of knowledge. As you gather and soak in the abundance of knowledge
from all over, this can prepare you to be a safe driver. As a result,
from apps, guidance, school courses, the driving world is
significantly better.
The words education and safe go hand in hand with one another in
accordance with the driving world. If you are a safe driver, then you
are a smart driver. If you aren’t a safe driver, then you need to
be reminded of the rules or perhaps more awareness. Driving deaths
occur a lot more often than they should and all the situations are
different. Some may occur more than another, but most have to do with
the driver, in the car, being negligent. Unfortunately, this
negligence is because of distracted/unsolicited activities while
driving, which is all under the big umbrella of being a safe driver.
Steps that can be taken to reduce the number of fatal incidents are
as follows: stricter penalties, such as fines for DUI, texting or
calling; those who have one DUI should be required a breathalyzer in
their car, any more after license suspension; consider a required
two-hour driving course anytime prior to receiving licensure; raising
the driving age to 18 nationwide, since there are more mortalities
within the teenage group.
I have never been in a car accident, but there are definitely ways
that I can improve upon my driving that helps others, I will be more
conscientious of the happenings around me; I will have my phone out
of reach to avoid distractions; I will be more patient and calm to
cause less road rage for myself and others. My parents are usually
guilty of using Google Maps on their phones while driving.
Unfortunately, I have been guilty of changing music on my phone while
driving and that will change considering how quickly accidents can
happen.
